About this course

Turn 'I post on Instagram' into a professional service. You learn to optimise a business profile, plan content around pillars, produce graphics and short video, batch and schedule work, handle comments and messages professionally, and report results a client understands.

This is one of the most immediately monetisable skills on the page: every Nigerian small business with an Instagram page needs someone consistent, and consistency is exactly what this course trains.

What you will be able to do

  • Optimise a business profile and write a bio that converts
  • Plan content pillars and a 7-day calendar
  • Produce graphics, photos and short videos to a consistent standard
  • Batch and schedule content instead of posting reactively
  • Handle comments, DMs and difficult customers professionally
  • Report reach, engagement and growth in a client-ready format

The deliverable

Certificate requirement

A content calendar plus a week of managed posts

An optimised profile, a 7-day content calendar, the graphics and captions for it, and a mock week of managing a business account — posts, comments, messages and a short performance report.

How the course is assessed

Level 1

Know

You can explain the concept, name the tools involved and recognise the difference between doing it well and doing it carelessly.

Level 2

Do

You can perform the task independently, without the instructor repeating the steps, and fix the obvious problems when they appear.

Level 3

Create

You can use the skill to produce something a real person would pay for — a document, a design, a website, a report, a repaired machine.

Week by week

3 weeks, 6 practical sessions. Click any session to read the complete class lecture — objectives, taught content, the instructor demonstration, practice, mistakes to avoid, homework and the marking rubric.

Social Media Management — questions

The things prospective students actually ask before enrolling.

Do I need a large following to take this course?+

No, and a large personal following is not the skill anyway. Clients pay for consistency, planning and professional handling of their account — which is what you learn. The final project runs on a mock account precisely so your own numbers do not matter.

Do I need paid scheduling tools?+

No. We use the native scheduling and insights features on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, which are free, plus free planning templates. We mention third-party schedulers and when they are worth paying for, but nothing in the course requires a subscription.

How is this different from Content Creation?+

Content Creation is about producing the material — filming, lighting, audio, editing, thumbnails. Social Media Management is about running the account — strategy, calendars, community, reporting. They pair well and many students take both.

How do I get my first client?+

Start with a business you already know — your church, a family shop, a former employer — and offer to run one month properly. Use the reporting template from session five so they can see what changed. Business & Freelancing covers pricing, proposals and invoicing in detail.
